a superior seating position appeals to the unconscious mind.

At least that was what Toyota came up with after research, that sitting higher up made people feel safe and superior.

And for those who have logic doing the thinking, one trip to a parking lot with SUV's on both sides blocking your view when trying to back out of the space , will cure that, demonstrating that one needs to join the crowd to have a better view of traffic all around, or when pulling out from parking . .

As one with a low, somewhat smaller (mid size) car, in a world of SUV's, I keep my head on a swivel , because I am occasionally unseen.
