Family size is shrinking.

The US birthrate is way down, has been since at least 2008.
But SUVs keep getting bigger and bigger. I've got neighbors my age, kids are grown and living elsewhere, they drive to the grocery store in Kia Tellurides and Volkswagen Atlases.
And Porsche Cayennes, which is even more nutso.
