I've seen servo's bass drivers reacting to the room (e.g. when someone opens or closes a door or when your hand gets too close to the cone.)

This is not a good idea IMO. We are used to the room and we expect to hear the room, if say a piano were in the room. Having the speaker flatten the room response gives an artificial and to my and other friend's ears a flat uninvolving sound.

If the servo just reacted to the speaker and not to the room I believe is would sound better.
