Anything with that sharp of corners has very high frequencies.
Do yourself a favor and try either additive synthesis or subtractive filtering to build up or low pass filter a sawtooth.
Build up a sawtooth harmonic by harmonic to watch how the higher frequencies change the shape to get closer to the sawtooth. Look at what it looks like when it's band limited: i.e. when you don't have an infinite number of harmonics.
or
Start with a sawtooth and put it thru a low pass filter and slowly lower the cutoff to see how it affects the sawtooth.
I'd do it for you, but since there are many books with pictures of it already, I presume that they didn't convince you. In my experience there's nothing like personal experience :)
