I see your point: but I didn't say that it was "beefier"

I said that it had a unique technological advancement, - a magnesium disc platter that performs a unique function: ie, clamping over the complete disc and placing a very tight hold on the CD.

I am saying that it is my belief, that:

1. Transports are highly underrated.
2. There aren't that many manufacturers of transports.
3. Manufacturers don't emphasize the importance of the transport.
4. The quality and technology that goes into the new Esoteric VRDS-Neo probably results in better reading and more information going to the rest of the player. This transport IMPROVES the player that it is installed in.
5. It is still possible to improve a player in other areas, - (or mess up the player in other areas).

Yes, I have heard players that have had the Esoteric transport installed and then a different player with the same circuitry oof first player other than the transport, - and the difference was astoundingly better for the player that had the Esoteric transport installed....

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it....

(Yes, part of what I'm saying is out of anger that the few manufacturers there are of transports, don't build better ones. And, I applaud companies like AudioMeca for building their own. No, I haven't done any comparisons with the AudioMeca and the Esoteric).

Cheers R..
