I think you need to justify your position. If we compare the measured jitter of the Ayre to say, the Linn Unidisk 1.1, there is a difference of 110 picoseconds between the two. That just doesn't seem like a lot to me. 200ps difference perhaps, 300ps difference yes, but ~100ps difference isn't much in relative terms, especially when John Atkinson still characterizes the Ayre's jitter measurement as "low."

So, quantify/qualify. Why do you say that the Ayre isn't "quite there?" What audible difference do you think I would notice that could clearly be ascribed to jitter if I were to do a direct comparison between the Linn and the Ayre? BTW I have extensively auditioned both and can describe in detail the differences between the two.

So paint the scenario for me.
