yet another post about room placement for Magnepan 1.7s

Hi everyone,

I ordered a set of Magnepan 1.7s Monday and I'm hoping to figure out the best place to put them before I get them in. Don't really want to move furniture more than once if I can help it.

I have two rooms I can put them in. One is 10x15, the other is 15x15 that's open to a 10x7 dining room area and kitchen and such. The other issue with the 15x15 is that one of the walls is about half height since there's a stairway behind it. I've attached a picture of the floorplan. (The living room and the smaller bedroom on the right are my two options. I feel the other bedroom is too close to the neighbors to use with these speakers.) I also have pictures of the living room here



The other issue is that I'm also going to be using this in a HT setup (probably 4.1, I'm still deciding whether to use MMGWs or MC1s for the rears). I figure that when I listen to music I can put a blanket or comforter over the TV and toe in the speakrs, and then leave the speakers wider when used for movies and games. It's a 50" TV. I'm guessing that the speakers would be about six and a half feet apart from center to center.

Any ideas guys?
