I suspect you're right about the lifetime of the Emotivas, they probably use cheap electrolytics. But if the basic design is reliable and I haven't seen anything that says it isn't, I'm thinking that just means that the caps will have to be replaced in a few years. Maybe the precision resistors, but that's true in any amp, they drift with time.
