Re: A open mind is not subjective or objective but a little of both

Kloss, the answer to your question "For both sides are wrong a bit and both are right a bit, if you side with any you are not open minded at all." is easy!

This whole discussion about audio and whether or not the differences Subjectivists claim they hear are real or imagined is like viewing a diamond. There are many, many, many facets and each facet requires serious examination.

As one starts looking at the facets of this discussion they'll learn and develope beliefs. If most of the facets they view have revealed truths that are Subjectivist in nature, the person will probably be a Subjectivist. If most of the facets they have viewed revealed truths that are Objectivist in nature, the person will probably be a Objectivist.

Openmindedness comes when either of these two realizes there are still other facets out of the many, many many that they haven't yet examined, and it's possible that within these facets truths that are opposite of what they now believe reside. Thus although one "sides" with either Objectivists or Subjectivists, they can still be openminded to the possibility of learning something new that changes their mind.

I believe I am just like a man who qualifies real diamonds. Just like he wouldn't state a diamond is perfect, until he's viewed through all the facets, I don't claim I'm 100% certain in my beliefs.

However just like a man who qualifies real diamonds, might after looking through many, many of the many facets of a diamond, state he believes this diamond WILL BE found to be unflawed. I too, believe I've viewed through many, many of the many facets of the "audio diamond" and thus I believe it's probable that Subjectivists claims WILL BE found to be unflawed. Of course it's possible I'm wrong. Another thing that's also possible is that one day a new test WILL BE developed that proves Subjectivists are correct.

Only time will tell.
