that the casual, non critical listening allows us to 1)relax some and not obsess over what we are hearing which 2) allows the unconcious to give us "its" input on the matter. And, sometimes, the more casual listening allows us to actually hear the music rather than the sound. Often we end up crediting some tweak for the "magic" that was simply created by our (relaxed) state of mind.Actually, casual off-axis listening is part of the testing I use on any change I make in a system. If you find yourself tapping your foot and enjoying the music no matter where in the house you are, then something is very right indeed.
As an irrelevant side note, I am one that hears no effects from the chip. I even tried activating one with a surveyors laser to see if there was anything that might happen there.
