If you believe (A) the GSIC works, i.e. causes permanent physical changes in compact discs; and (B) that you don't understand the physical mechanism of how it works, then you cannot maintain (C) that the GSIC is safe to use.Consider that human tissue is much more fragile than the structure of compact discs, and the GSIC user (and house mates) are much larger than the compact disc under treatment. Even if the user is several feet away from the chip while it is active, the solid angle subtended by the user is likely to be comparable to that of the disc under treatment.
Exposure to electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths from microwaves to gamma rays, at sufficient intensity, causes permanent changes to human tissue. The consequences of the changes include sterility, birth defects, and cancer. If you don't know how the GSIC works, then how can you believe there would not be similar consequences to the user and his or her family and friends?
I do not think the GSIC works. I tried it without hearing any change in the sound of several compact discs. The others I know who have tried it report similar lack of effect. Therefore, I'm not overly concerned that people who use the GSIC are placing themselves and possibly innocent children at risk by using it. I wonder, though, if you can justify using the GSIC given these considerations.
