Norm, of course, you are correct.
It should be just a 'trust your ears' thing, BUT some folks won't just let you believe in what you hear, without challenging your experience, and the motives of those who sell or talk favorably about the chip.
This is the 'closed minded attitude' that I am referring to, especially in reference to techs.
I am not claiming that I understand how the chip works, but it appears to have been deliberately designed for some reason, and it has worked for me in a listening test. I, personally, am fascinated by 'strange physics' like this, but it is not really that unusual in modern world of physics.
