The instructions mention if you wish to treat a bunch of CDs in sequence it's OK to keep the chip on the player - that is because charge is depleted only when upgrading a disc, and that happens almost instantly. The reason for the caveate about storing the chip is so that a customer will not keep the chip on the player for long period. I think the chip should be kept (in its case) at least 5 or 6 feet away from the player. (See TV anecdote below)."Wait a minute....I thought this thing was supposed to recognize whether a disk had been treated (or needed treatment) whether to activate or not and count down to its discharge/death. Seems once again he's making it up as he goes and hopes no one is paying attention, which he's accused me of several times!
"Regarding placement - I usually demo and use the chip directly above transport section but I don't think critical where the chip is, even under the player should be OK. I have had the chip turn off the TV when an untreated CD was playing when chip was 6 feet (!) from the player."
