it is not advisable to use batteries. It's a hassle and they degrade whatever the specs say. You'll still need to bypass them with capacitors for best effect.
Better to look for a good mains supply with it's own upstream isolating transformer, and measure the output quality broadband plus listening. A modfied 10A lab supply with voltage and current monitoring will do nicely. Do not get one with a fan, or a newer switching unit.
