I like the Thunderbolt option on the newer minis and so I am considering purchasing only the internal power filter from Mojo or Core audio to install on a newer 2012/2013 mini, so that I will have an external DC jack which, like the 2009, I could use with any number of power supplies from folks like Hynes, Mojo, Core Audio, Welborne Labs, Red Wine (battery), or others. I am unaware of anyone who markets a DC jack replacement without including a power filter or I might consider that option. The Mojo filter with DC jack is $200 and can be self-installed.
