We had a somewhat analogous situation at Listener. Bruce Kennett, a wonderfully skilled writer and photographer, designs museum displays, exhibition catalogs, books, and web sites for a living. Bruce designed Transparent Audio's web site before he was approached to join the Listener family. He discussed the potential conflict of interest with Art Dudley, and they decided that not only would Bruce never review cables of any sort, he would never even mention the subject. Bruce's slim connection to Transparent was fully disclosed to Listener readers, and in the five years that he wrote for the magazine he wrote not a single word about cables. As far as one could tell from Bruce's articles his system had no cabling. Listener readers appear to have been satisfied with the arrangement.
