AFAIK the only jumper option in the E22 switches between the +20 dB FS output and the trim pot. So you'd have to solder in new resistors to reduce the level without the pot. I'd make up a couple of XLF-XLM L-pads except it doesn't make sense to go to the effort since I'm going to be using the SPDIF output with the Mini DSP instead.
For now, I think I'll try going into the AHB2 rather than the A21 -- it's switchable to pro levels. Also, I think I'll make up a couple of balanced cables, I'll need to use 2V FS unbalanced from the Mini DScheaP but for now, there's no reason not to use balanced +4 dBm.
Time to test the Mini DSP too -- I still haven't played with it because my new motherboard to my surprise didn't have an SPDIF output, just Toslink, which the Mini DSP doesn't do. I want to make sure the AES/EBU output is working on the card . . .
