I did design my music-PC system's max draw for optimum match (lowest ripple) at the key voltages, along with solid regulation. CPU config and SSD choices helped keep power needs well under <200 watts. Each PSU may have pro/cons relative to your specific needs. For example, your existing PSU may be stronger in other required aspects. In my other PC I simply grabbed the special sale for anything "powerful enough" first.
Oh, yes, those $750 would do better as power amps for you. In my case, it seems like about half of that would get me a decent USB output conditioner.
