Room treatments were also my biggest improvement. I have a large room, and added five broadband absorption panels. I was amazed at how much more clarity and details I could hear (and how many notes that I was unable to hear before the treatments). The improvements were not only in the bass, which I expected, but also in the mid-range and treble.
RickyM, I am now thinking about adding diffusion behind the speakers. I realize that all rooms are different, but am curious your experience on how you would compare adding the absorption panels versus the diffusion. In other words, did the diffusion make just as much of a difference as the absorption panels?
