What was your best tweak or change?

Of all the changes I've made over the last 18 months, there is one that stands above all the rest. What has been your experience? I'm not limiting this to changing caps, adding chokes, fuses, etc. If changing a component made the biggest difference, just say from what to what.

Mine surprised me. I started with a home theater system consisting of Denon, Definitive BP10bs and dvd for cds (this feels like a confession). I added a cdp, added an external Adcom 3 channel amp, added a CC3 (was listening to 5 channel music but now it's strictly 2 channel), changed interconnects, added a dac, upgraded to a Threshold 2 channel amp, added a tube pre, got rid of monster power filtering, changed to modded SMGas and finally IIIas in more or less that order. The biggest difference occurred when I changed from stock to Shunyata power cords on my amp and cdp shortly after buying the SMGas. The bass improved dramatically, much cleaner, much more articulate. The mids and highs improved as well.

Perhaps if the order had been different I might be attributing the biggest change to something else.
