As it relates to my current system, I'm having a difficult time deciding which change/tweak had the greatest impact - several resulted in significant changes for the better. There is one that nobody has mentioned yet that I think is necessary for MMGs, and that's the addition of a pair (or more) of subs. Of course, upgrading the XO, elevating and getting them nearly dead vertical, and mounting the panels in hardwood frames were all very positive changes, as was improving the amp - temporarily running them with a Pass X-350 and listening at fairly decent volumes in glorious class A is a sweet experience.
The biggest change is still on the horizon, but just barely. In a couple of weeks, I'll have an improved system (built around 3.6s - yes, they'll have Mye stands) in a treated, dedicated and isolated room. Somehow, I think that will be the knockout change.
