RE: DC output

I bought the pre before the Threshold. I asked Lloyd at Mapletree to guide me in matching amp and pre. He said stay away from DC output and that as long as the frequency response started above 0 I would be fine. That scratched my first choice, the Pass x250. The Threshold supposedly ranges from 7 to 100k....maybe not. I asked Jon Soderberg at Vintage Amp. He said it would work as well.

I was planning to go active, but was hoping to get some immediate use with what I have.

What protects the bass panel from DC? Why does an active crossover protect me from DC being passed to the speakers?
