RE: The Friday evening session was not washed out after all.

D, I am sooo glad that you are adding something like frames to FR! This is an awesome combination. FR does its fabulous work in the mids, upper lows and lower treble. Then, with the frames or bracing, you add the best of what the upper tweeter range can deliver PLUS the best (impactful & clean) lower end that our old MMGs can deliver.

The other potential major development could the Razor-Max that you mentioned; adding damping material to the MDF frame itself. I am fresh out of Cascade so, you'll have to let us know.

There is nothing subtle about this combo. The difference simply jumps at you. If the Denon receiver proclaims it loud and clear, the A21 shakes you silly with it.

A lot more music can please with no subwoofer. Last night, for the first time this week, I did not miss the subwoofer at all. This has only happened if the P-Frames are on. Also for the first time this week, the full, contiuous and smooth sheen of violin harmonics in SACDs came through. Again, this has only happened when the P-Frames are on. Ergo, like you suspect, that outer MDF frame still needs to be dealt with!

This morning I reran all that I did last evening. Same results. Delightful. (and, since ambient noise stayed low enough, I was able to capture some measurements. I have to go through these later today.)
