Re: Reasoning

Hi Angus,

"Actually, it seems that it is a fairly rigid mount. I don't know exactly what you did, so I can say for sure, but it sounds like it is effectively rigid with respect to the speaker."

When pushed, the speakers will slowly oscillate a few times before stopping again. This is the same behavior exhibited by a CD player on Hip Joints.

"I, for instance, would not try and isolate my speakers from my basement concrete floor."

My listening room is in my basement. The floor is poured concrete covered by an indoor/outdoor carpet.

I don't know what to tell you Angus. As I said in one of my earlier posts in this thread, I'm not sure of the "Why" behind this. I don't know why a truck changing gears 1/2 mile away or the ocean tide or tectonic activity would have any effect on my system. What I do know is that when I provide isolation from the frequencies generated by these types of things, the performance of my system takes a great leap upward. Ultimately, if the theories we toss about don't jive with what I experience repeatedly and consistently, I personally would rather find a new theory.

Happy Listening!
Barry
