Very wrong. A 60Hz wavelength of sound in air is more than 18ft. long! 60Hz sound doesn't leak in/out of your outlets. If your components are sensitive to minute microphonics, what happens when you are playing actual music at a rich full volume? Don't forget the bass. You do listen to music with bass don't you? What, you think a few wraps of teflon tape are going to shield all your components from bass vibrations? It takes significantly more mass than a couple of wraps of tape to damp mechanical vibrations in all your components.
But whatever makes you happy. Knock on wood, step on a crack break your mothers back. Don't cross the path of a black cat or you'll certainly get seven years of bad luck if you break a mirror.
