I am also thinking that if designed correctly, a similar type of filter should be very effective on ICs. I love to tweak and to a limited extent mod audio gear. If I find someone that is familar with component design, I will look into such a project.
Oh yah, I did not include a picture of the ground wire at installation outside of the enclosure. I did describe the process though. One end of the 12ga wire goes inside the enclosure, the other end is installed into an AC male plug, then plugged into your AC wall outlet. See pages 17 and 18 of the plans (Preparation STEP #8: Preparing the TI-Shield Ground wire).
