So as I understand it...

...the danger is - if lightning strikes my house, there could be an arc between the two grounds?

Has lightning ever hit your house, or anyone's house you know?

As I said, electrical storms here are extremely rare. I think I've seen two in the distance in the 15 years I've lived in the house.

So the chances of lightning hitting us would be about the same as me winning the CA lottery twice.

But thanks for the code recitation and the warning. I'll go back and A/B the sound with the two grounds and see if the dedicated one sounds that much better.
