Huh?I do believe I can measure differences in audio signals far smaller than any human can hear. So if you can hear a difference then it can be measured and quantified. Anyone who tells you that the results of tweak "X" can not be measured is selling snake oil.
People fall for this because people are people after all. Many people have large sums of money invested in their systems. Many people like to think they are an "audiophile" and belong to some secret club of listeners that hear "more" than the average listener.
So here comes Tweak "X", pays a few notable "audiophiles" and "audiophile rags" to review their product. The reviewer give a rave review just like he was paid to do.
Now here "Joe Audiophile" buys the Tweak "X" and applies it to his system.
Does he hear a difference?
Of course he does, because:
1) He expected to
2) To not hear it could mean his system is not good enough to benefit from it.
3) To not hear it could mean he does not have the "Golden ear" he thinks he has.
4) To not hear is could mean he was suckered and he knows he is smarter than that.
