Here is an example of N.B.C bull crap you can research yourself to prove he is full of crap. And this is a good example of why people need to knowledge not just technical knowledge but knowledge of audio history which in my opinion is very very important to this hobby.
I will copy and paste what N.B.C said.
( The Edgarhorn 350Hz round 2" tractrix [on my scale] has a resolution level of 3.40. When combined with the JBL 2441 (resolution level of 8.00) the combined resolution level on my scale is 8.90.
The JBL 2440 has a resolution level of 9.00. With the Edgarhorn 350Hz the combined resolution level is 8.90.
The JBL 375 has a resolution level of 10.50. With the Edgarhorn 350Hz the combined resolution level is 11.00.
The OEM WeCo 594A has a resolution level of 10.60. With the Edgarhorn 350Hz the combined resolution level is 12.00.)
Ok the fun begins!!! The JBL 375 and the JBL 2440 are the exact same driver. They are functionally identical. They use the exact same diaphragm, 2" exit, phase plug, magnet and cast return pot the differences are color, nameplate, terminals, the JBL 375 is the consumer version and the JBL 2440 is the commercial version. Yet in N.B.C post on the same 350HZ horn the JBL 2440 has combined resolution of 8.90 and the JBL 375 has a combined resolution of 11.0. N.B.C also says the western electric 594 driver on the same 350HZ horn has a resolution of 12.00 which is funny because the JBL 375 & 2440 are clones of the western electric 594 only one difference is the western electric 594 is a field coil not permanent magnet but when run at 24 volt the 594 still has the exact same magnetic strength in the voice coil gap which is 20500 gauss or 2.05 teslas. So the three drivers are basically identical.
Anyone even novice audiophiles that are into compression drivers and horns know this. These drivers and like the Wright brothers or hennery ford they are the foundation of their industries, and it is very common knowledge that all audiophiles should know.
I may not have 50 years of experience I am only 53 but I do have 30 years of speaker design and even more important I know the history of my industry and that is very important knowledge that has helped me just as much as speaker design has helped me. So, when I hear bull crap, I call people out because fake news and misinformation are destroying society, and it needs to stop if people don't know something they should research the facts before they post bull crap. Knowledge is the worlds greatest equalizer it is so sad so many people lack common knowledge.
And to anyone reading this post contact JBL and ask about the 375 and 2440 being the exact same driver and they will tell you yes ask if they are clones of the western electric 594 they will tell you yes.
Now a brief history lesson all technical services bought western electric, and Lansing manufacturing and Altec Lansing was formed 5 years later James B Lansing formed JBL so it is common knowledge the history of these pioneers of the audio industry.
My boy Bill over at great plains audio aka Altec Lansing still has the western electric tooling to make the 594 drivers along with all the tooling to make all Altec Lansing drivers. Anyone that wants to verify any information I have posted about western electric drivers can ask him or contact JBL and ask them.
I deal in facts not fiction so let's stop the spread of bull crap
