RE: Never heard of speaker "resolution level"

E-Stat N.B.C is the only person I have ever heard talk about resolution levels. Not one speaker designer or speaker manufacturer have ever mentioned resolution levels.

Speaking with experience when it comes to speaker design and measurements, I can assure you there are no measurements for resolution if there were designers and manufacturers would post the measurements, and all audiophiles would know about resolution levels and how they are measured.

N.B.C also said he had 5" throat compression drivers but there are no compression drivers with 5" throats. And throat is not what we call a compression driver exit we call it an exit. 1" exit 1.5" exit and so on throat and mouth are used when talking about horns/waveguides. When someone does not use proper terminology 9 time out of ten, they are clueless about the subject.

E-Stat you are the only one in this forum that caught that and called out N.B.C to explain resolution levels and I can 100% guarantee that N.B.C will not respond to your request because he can't because resolution levels are bull shit.

With that said resolution usually refers to how detailed a speaker sounds detail, clarity, accuracy all falls under the resolution definition. When N.B.C said in his post the same driver had more resolution on one waveguide vs another he proved he has no idea what he is talking about. You can put a driver on a variety of different waveguides constant directivity, Tractrix, conical, whatever waveguide you want, and it will only change the frequency response. A waveguides shape cannot make a compression driver sound more detailed or more resolving and anyone that thinks it will is clueless.

Thanx for catching this and posting your question to N.B.C I would love for him to call out you or my reply to your post, but he won't. He is the only audiophile in the world talking about a numbered scale for resolution and when you're the only one in the world doing something it either means you are a genius or your full of crap. Be careful around N.B.C post you don't want to step in it.
