Please Don't Make a HiFi Unity.

As someone who has made a serious effort* at cloning Tom's Unity, I honestly believe that a "hi-fi Unity" would be a complete flop.

Why do I say this?

It would cost too much. The parts cost of the Unity is quite high. In most HiFi speakers, the lion's share of the budget goes to the cabinet, with a fraction of the budget devoted to the drivers and the crossover.

To compete in the hi-fi realm, the Unity would have to be much smaller, and the cabinet much more attractive. In other words, a HiFi Unity would be compromised and overpriced.

* to see my efforts, check out the URL. This is for the car, where no one has ever tried a Unity. If I wanted a Unity at home, I'd BUY ONE! They're quite reasonably priced.
