How Big?Clearly the participants of this forum are serious about sound regardless of which camp one feels aligned with.
So on this Thanksgiving day (in the USA), while the turkey is about to kick in, I would like to ask a question.Pretend you had a speaker design that had some desirable qualities for home use.
Pretend that some of these are size related and like that stupid grinning Bob in the Enzite commercials, in some things larger is better. So the question, how big a speaker could someone serious about sound reasonably tolerate in a living room? I mean what would be the largest reasonable size H, W, D?
Hifi has been my hobby since I was a kid, I started making speakers in 7th grade shop class (up to then I only took them apart).
Every time I go to Best Buy or even “hifi†stores it makes me sad to think what has happened to home audio. I come home and listen here or go to this forum and think I am not alone.
Any thoughts?Tom
