["Sure and as audiophiles shouldn't we strive to achieve systems that sound the best based on our priorities? "branding" and pride of ownership are issues for others."]If many, if not a majority of us are "others", how do you reconcile that? Do you think they have the audacity to consider us as "the others"?
["You're beginning to sound like someone who's trying to explain why an audiophile magazine no longer caters to audiophiles."]
Magazines cater to readership/survival. No, they are not all things nor can they be as responsive to our insatiable need for information, as a forum such as this. They do have admirable resources for gathering information, even though some of it is stale by our standards. I could go on and on with this.
The point is, we can make it an issue for debate but "to explain why an audiophile magazine no longer caters to audiophiles." is pointless in a practical sense. Of course, we would first debate the validity of the statement. You know, we could intellectually resolve world hunger before another issue of a magazine is published but I regress, I think.
[">>>>Reality hurts?
Believe me I'm not disagreeing with your take on "reality" and I can assure you if it's hurting someone it's not me."]Oops, that was a typo. It should have been, "Reality hurts? ;^)".
