*Simple* deduction. To take you through it:
1) OP plainly appears to not be a sophisticated computer user--no offense. Therefore he wouldn't like faffing about with a PC and the tweaks required to gain top performance. He'd give up and think it a difficult, cranky method of playing music, wondering what all the fuss is about. Ergo a Mac Mini with iTunes will be perfect for him, and he can continue using new PC for internetting, emailing, and Turbotax, and keep the Mini for pure music.
2) OP's PC will not give satisfactory results. He has a really fine system and probably likes a quiet listening room uncluttered by a big, ugly PC.
3) OP's system shows he doesn't mind spending $$ on quality and ease of use. Ergo the price of a Mac Mini system should not prevent a barrier given 1) and 2) above.
