Dyna is right about the experience thing. I doubt many of us here would find the hydrogen audio members system anything but pedestrian. Sure there might be some exceptions but that kind of dogma and lack of real world experience usually leads to lame systems. The truth of this can be seen in their continued claim that 192k mp3 is transparent....yes I posted my abx test in foobar where I scored 14/15 even on my lame headphone rig. They had a hard time believing those results and even said that it was probably the compression settings or some other anomaly... but my test had none of that, just eac ripping to lame 192 vbr and a .wav in abx mode of foobar. I think I even posted the files:

ANd this place is way better because we actually tolerate opposite points of view. THey hide behind their toc way too much, and that is just a figurehead for controlling the dogma on that site.

Case in point. They banned me for trying to fulfill the TOC. I wanted to test whether one could hear the difference between flac and .wav. I tried with Foobar, but since it cheated and uncompressed the flac to .wav BEFORE the test one couldnt see if the realtime processing actually impacted sound. I posted asking if there was a way to stop foobar from cheating. No warning (arent you supposed to get at least ONE warning?), no response from Peter of Foobar fame who banned me for posting "nonsense". Easier to just get rid of me than actually have to look at ones beliefs. Sad really given the "objectivist" slant over there. WHy stop a guy from trying to test a claim?

Looking back I am glad they are hypocrites. Saves me a bunch of time.
