It's not the crossover it's the 075-bullet people including myself think they are Bright sounding butt to be honest all bullet tweeters are bright sounding. The 077 slots are considered by JBL fans to be the best out of the 075, 076, and the butt cheek tweeters. None of these tweeters play flat and none should be used under 10,000 KHZ and yes, your 075 will drop off at 15,000 KHZ.
Here are measurements taken years ago by a JBL, TAD, Altec guru using clio the 2402 are the commercial version of the 075. The 2405 are the commercial version of the 077. The 2404H are the bi radial version. The red line is on axis the blue is 15 degrees off axis green is 30 degrees off axis and purple is 45 degrees off axis.
If you like your 075 keep them but with so many options available today, it's not hard to find something better.
