RE: I agree--701s not great for rock

I broke down and decided to borrow a pair of Q700's(Quincy Jones endorsed K700's) from my local Frys and I have to say I am truly torn. On the one hand they bring out interesting micro details in the music and definitely have a more high end sound then my V6's, but they are soooooo bass anemic. The bass varies from almost completely missing to present, but with no real impact depending on what I listen to. Like many others I will probably never learn to love sound with so little bass, but it does give me an idea of what my headphone amp can do with better cans. The search continues.
