perhaps the designer of the 598's anticipated that they were more likely to be used with ancillaries that were tipped up. That may explain why they sounded so good (to me) with the Woo, which can be a bit bright and loose in the bass when combined with the 650's, and not so much with the Fournier which is neither I think.
Obviously the right match is the mystery. I feel lucky to have lucked out with a good combo early in the search. Good luck...........
