I disagree that Brystons are not low-z capable. Although I've never run one into a 2 ohm load, I've often run them configured for mono into loads that dip slightly below 4 ohms, which is equivalent to a 2 ohm load when not strapped into mono. This on live sound applications and day-long concert stages, where shutdowns cannot be tolerated. Never an issue.Bryston's were also one of a very short list of amplifiers that I could use on Dayton-Wright XG8's, a speaker that caused the blue smoke to brick many a power amp.
In fact I've never actually seen a Bryston fail. I'm sure it happens, but I know of dozens of installations.
