What is your experience with Accuphase - they all claim and post 1ohm numbers. They've been around for years and they have meters (which I happen to like). I'm not a fan of the sound of Krell which is why I'm looking at Accuphase.
On the affordable end I am considering the PS Audio M700 monoblocks which claim 700 watts at 4ohm and 2 ohm stable.
There are not a lot of - if any speakers that drop below 2 ohms so basically an amp that won't blow if presented 2.5 ohms is probably fine.
I've not been thrilled with the sound of class D but people tell me it's better now and PS Audio in particular. http://www.psaudio.com/products/stellar-m700-power-amplifier/#tab-features
Still Accuphase is intriguing.
