GG,
> Used Summits (legacy model) are selling in the $5K area, which is quite the deal in my humble opinion.
I wish. In Europe those babies go for much more money on the 2nd-hand market. But if I can get close to 5000 euros for my extensively and expensively upgraded Maggies I would go looking for a pair for sure. I will probably audition them next year.
Those Summits are quite rugged I guess. My friend who bought my CLSes listened to them and found them very good indeed. I found the older ML hybrids quite poor, the cone bass was always waaay too slow for the panels.
But the day after tomorrow I fly to Thailand for 3 months. I have a great selection of my music on a 500 GB removable harddisk and a 16 GB USB stick for the car stereo of my girlfriend there. At the house I will have to listen via iTunes on my netbook and a pair of old Sony phones.
But hey, there are other interesting and beautiful things than music from big panels ;-)
Cheers, Jörg.
