I can't tell you how mundane some repairs become - some damn engineering flaw leads to the same damn failure again and again. In some cases, all that oxygen in our atmosphere just works its magic and things corrode or rot. Open cell foam on solenoids, for instance. Even when I did software support, most of my effort was applied to correcting programming deficiencies. I can't remember ever encountering anything that was perfect, and Maggies have their issues like everything else.
I bought a pair of MMGs on a whim several years ago. I got curious and started digging around for information about how one might improve them, but I had an idea or two. To make a boring story less so, all that's left of those MMGs are the actual driver panels. That puts me at the far end (well, you're further out there ;-) of the second camp.
I bought a pair of 3.6s in an act of lust (behave) a couple of months ago. I dumped the oem stands in favor of Mye stands. My toe has crossed the line. How much inertia that has to yank me deeper into camp #2 remains to be determined. I know where I belong, but I'm really happy with these speakers. I'm so happy with these speakers that I haven't caught myself desiring better.
