Basically ... old vs. new! :-))
Considering your situation:
* the Sunfire allows you to have 4 channels at 400w into 8ohms (800w into 4ohms?)
* however, to take full advantage of this, you will need to actively biamp - ie. replace the external XO boxes on the 3.6 with a 2-way active XO. This will cost some money.
* if you only use 2 channels of your Sunfire - you're wasting it. (And if you use 4 channels but still use the external passive XOs ... you're wasting it, too! :-)) )
* whereas if you outlay $6.5K you get a new Mac amp with plenty of power for the 3.6s. So if money is not an issue ... I would say go for the Mac! :-))
