Sunfire vs. McIntosh Amp for Magnepan 3.6

I have currently on-order a set of Magnepan 3.6s, due within the next week (told they ship today or tomorrow). My current amp, and the setup I was planning on for my new 3.6s, is a Sunfire Cinema Grand Signiture Amp. This amp will allow me to Bi-Amp my speakers with a total of 1620 Watts per speaker. Sounds like I should shut up and color .. right? Oh, and I would be using my Sunfire Theater Grand II pre-amp. I paid about $4500 for this Sunfire gear in 2000 (a bargain back then).

My dealer has just offered me a trade-in allowance of $2500 for my Sunfire equipment toward a McIntosh C220 pre-amp with an MC252 Amp. That would be a tube pre-amp with a 500W / speaker (at 4 ohm) set-up with the incredible McIntosh gear. Still approx $6.5K out of pocket.

My question for the group .. if money is not an option .. keep my 10 year old Sunfire equipment, or buy the McIntosh?

I admit I love the McIntosh sound, but the Sunfire is no slouch either. On the other hand my Sunfire is old enough that it could fail, and then its value really tanks on re-sale.

Suggestions/comments/advice?
