Yeah, if you have subs you don't really need to worry about extension, even if they're under the speakers. And you can trap/equalize the bass. Unless of course you have a stupid room like mine that's designed to make the placement of corner traps impossible. I was just up there in the still-empty space clapping my hands and it's a textbook illustration of acoustical problems.
Hey, if they don't work in their new location, maybe you can use your subs as bed pillars. It would make a great alarm!
