Home Planar Speaker Asylum

Welcome! Need support, you got it. Or share your ideas and experiences.

You are thinking of the sideways approach.

Rotate the speakers so they face directly away from each other. The tweeter sections should be towards the listener. You will have to sit closer to the speakers, so that there is about equal distance from you to each speaker and from speaker to speaker. You should get plenty of treble response at this angle, but you will have to reverse the polarity of the speaker cables to account for the fact that you are now listening to the back sides of the speakers.

Liz and David Hare of Stereo Unlimited in Walnut Creek came up with this approach. It works best with true-ribbon maggies, but Dawnrazor has found it works well with the quasi-ribbon types as long as you sit close enough to the speakers. It is how I have my MG-20s set up.
