Did you get them on Audiogon? I saw a pair listed for $350 recently that were practically new and thought someone would be getting a great deal. There is a lot of hidden potential in those MMGs as well but for now just enjoy them.
I bet your ps audio will be a great match. I am a beleiver in big power for the MMGs, especially when you are going to use better components upstream. MMGs/Maggies can sound "nice" being driven by just about anything, but if you want to get dynamics out of them and really wake them up you have to have real power. Which you certainly have on the way. I tried a Carver ZR1000 tripath amp that I did not care for but I am confident your ps audio will be an entirely different ball of wax.
For the first time in a long time I dont have any tubes in my system. I had a tubed preamp but slightly (yet truly) favored a passive and given the price difference it did not make sense to keep the tuber. This is just my $.02 from a recent shakeup- and in no way is advice on what you should do. Many people report splendid results with tubes in the mix.
Enjoy
