RE: Hire a qualified electrician.

You don't want to put grounds at two ends of the building. The ground needs to be a single location, and if you use multiple grounding rods then they NEED to be properly bonded. This doesn't mean #14 wire going through your attic, you gotta use some seriously heavy guage wire even for ground rods 6 feet apart. I'd need to look up my codebook for the actual size, but basically you don't want to do what you describe at all.
