Re: what's the cure for bouncy floors and floorstanders?

Floor bounce is usually the concern of turntable owners. Suggest a search on VA archives as there are several responses there for bracing, etc.

As to the potential for floor flex to affect the sonics of a speaker, suggest you try your new abode before concluding it will be a problem. Those floors have withstood much more pressure in their 125+ years than a couple of 80 pound speakers. For example, imagine the effect of two 200 pound males standing face to face at a gathering in your living room, think that would cause sonic problems (assuming they are not directly in front of one of your speakers)?

Your main issue may be to prevent vibration at the point where your speakers contact the floor. Many products are designed to address this condition and experimentation with your situation should identify the best solution.
