As you may have gathered, Gene is one of the most respected and loved singer/songwriter folk in collection. No Other is a masterpiece, especially the reissue with the bonus versions w/o the strings and puffery.
There are a few stories I can tell but in reference to Kai and the family, they are best left as memories....it was a swell time however.
The book, Mr. Tambourine Man about Gene is very good....I am 2/3rds thru it. I recommend the book and especially this album....as it would be the real start of Alt-americana, country rock, folk-country or what ever label you give it....Ahead of Parsons for certain....
